Description
JMP Artisan Perfumes Mossy Soil Eau de Parfum is a citrusy, woody perfume which beautifully combines two of nature’s key aromatics: bergamot and oakmoss. The fragrance reimagines the classic French ‘chypre’ perfume pyramid which traditionally features citrus top notes, labdanum middle notes and mossy, animalic base notes. JMP Artisan Perfumes has remodeled the classic proportions of the chypre pyramid and enriched it with non-standard nuances. Top notes of juicy bergamot and lemon are given added oomph thanks to airy aldehydes. The perfume’s heart notes combine florals with the organic complexity of soil thanks to earthy olibanum and precious orris root. Base notes are deep, earthy and mossy. Oakmoss, sandalwood and vetiver leave a leathery impression while white musk, civet and castoreum add to a sense of mysterious, animalic depth.
JMP Artisan Perfumes Mossy Soil was developed by Polish independent perfumer Jakub Pietrynka. The inspiration for the house’s fragrances is a combination of traditional French perfumery and olfactory experimentation. The niche parfumeur combines the art of scent making with a passion for creating minimalistic, classic bottles. JMP Artisan Perfumes opposes the commercialization that now dominates the world of perfumes and instead focuses on perfume as art enclosed in a bottle.
