Its glowing opening notes seem to flicker above its elusive heart, which hums tantalizingly underneath – always recedes just out of view like the dark corners of the subconscious. Cypriol has an otherworldly depth thanks to its leather and earth tones while parsley is subtly aromatic and rooty. White oud has an animalic, musty character which recalls leather and lichen – a forest floor sleeping at the back of the mind\u2019s eye. The perfume\u2019s base is swathed in Madagascan vanilla which is warm and addictively sensual, its rounded sweetness reveals the desire at the heart of childhood memories and casts light on the murky depth of our interior. The niche perfume is inspired by a collection of photographs Christ\u00e8le Jacquemin took in Valligui\u00e8res, the village in Southern France where she lived until 16 and from where she walked away hoping to be reborn elsewhere. Memory Lane is a tribute to returning to the places we try to escape, and how confronting the ghosts of our past can help us deal with who we are in the present. Like an olfactive journal chronicling our origins, Memory Lane bears witness to our universal quest for life and love, while its sweet luminosity points the way towards a bright future.<\/p>\n
