House of Matriarch Trillium Eau de Parfum is a tea and white floral fantasy fragrance brewed to capture the spirit of the elusive great white Trillium flower. Trillium is a quiet, subtle niche perfume which gently unfolds to reveal a profoundly deep, atmospheric infusion in the base.<\/p>\n

The opening is bright and fresh in its unfolding with the first spray a green burst of mimosa. Many of the notes used in Trillium are not used in conventional perfumes. Nigori sake has notes of plum and cherry blossom which glisten with ceremonial smoothness and shiso is a culinary ingredient and adds a beautiful lift. Double blooming Roman camomile radiates a light, honeyed floracly as the fragrance nestles on the skin. Like the classic tea ceremony, House Of Matriarch Trillium is a fragrance that lends itself to sharing. It is also perfectly unisex thanks to a hint of lavender, which is herbal, aromatic and cleansing.<\/p>\n

The floral opening gives way to a deeper tea aspect as the fragrances dries down. Trillium is a layered tea experience encompassing a global blend of all kinds of tea absolutes (red, white, black, green, honeybush). These mingle with tart rooibos and exotic natural floral notes of aglaia and coffee flower. As if by magic, the combination conjures up a bouquet that channels the majestic aroma of the mystical and potent trillium flower.<\/p>\n

Yet, however beautiful and extensive any description of Trillium aims to be, its true beauty is much more than the sum of its constituent parts. The list of the most exquisite teas, exotic ingredients and timeless florals only partly captures the essence of Trillium. This may be as close as most of us will ever come to this rare and beautiful blossom. And perhaps our infatuation with the flower lies in our inability to ever fully possess it.
