In this remote landscape grows Calytrix exstipulata, also known as Kimberley heather\u2014a hardy shrub crowned with delicate, pink, star-shaped flowers that bloom only during the harshest months of the dry season.<\/p>\n
Although its flowers evoke something ethereal and familiar, the plant harbors an extraordinary secret. When extracted, the Kimberley Heather yields one of the rarest and most enchanting natural ingredients in perfumery: an absolute so complex and full of character that it seems as though nature itself had composed it as a perfume. Unfortunately, its rarity is legendary. Since it grows only in isolated, wild regions and yields an extremely small amount of oil, it is almost never found in modern perfumery.<\/p>\n
