Papillon Artisan Perfumes Hera Extrait de Parfum is a powdery floral chypre that gleams like a golden halo of sunshine – a scent inspired by eternal love and made for a wedding day.
Hera seems to descend from above like a bouquet of heavenly flowers cloaked in angelic orris. With the juvenile rootiness of orris in full display, the opening feels plush and buttery yet cool and brightly optimistic.

The divine, white floral opulence of jasmine and ylang ylang is tempered by a translucent veil of ambrette seed. Its fuzzy powderiness offers soft, musky luxury. The floaty feeling of white florals suspended in sparkling air is given weight by narcissus, which resonates with the gilt glow of burnished gold. Here, Hera is the scent equivalent of the warm hum in the air after a gong has announced something important. Iris and violet heighten the euphoric effervescence of the arrangement and bring an air of vintage beauty.

As the scent dries down, orris ceremonially reemerges, this time like polished white gold. What was pale and cool during the opening, now offers the rich embrace of mixed metals merging into a luxurious olfactive alloy. This celebration of alabaster purity and sunshine yellow culminates in a fragrance of majestic proportions. Hera is named after the Greek goddess of weddings, family and blessings. Like its namesake, Papillon Artisan Perfumes Hera Extrait de Parfum possesses a celestial power. Symbolic of glad tidings and good fortune, it was created by Papillon founder and perfumer, Liz Moores, as a wedding gift for her daughter, Jasmine. There is no higher recommendation than that of the bride herself, who described Hera as ‘a blaze of glowing autumn colours, but with the lingering flush of summer flowers still being lifted on the wind’. Hera is a perfume celebrating transitions – between seasons, to a new phase of life, from dark to light. An alchemical scent, that through its vibrating, shapeshifting caress, can turn us mere mortals into gods and goddesses alike.

Hera is the first extrait de parfum from Papillon Artisan Perfumes, further enriching the depth and intensity of the brand’s renowned arrangements.
