Description
Prin Sgàil (Extrait de Parfum) is an olfactory shadow in the silence of the Scottish highlands, where fog weaves between the rocks. Sgàil, which means shadow in Gaelic, was born from the rain-soaked moors of Scotland. A memory cast in fragrance, a tribute to what invisibly accompanies us.
Sgàil opens with the gentle realism of wool absolute and lanolin, the comforting warmth that connects the flock and the shepherd against the cold. Milk softens the air like the pale dawn rising over distant valleys, while animalic musk buzzes intimately close to the skin. This is the scent of life finding refuge under a woolen cloak, the olfactory vapor of breath shared between man and mountain.
In the scent of Prin Sgàil, the landscape soon deepens. Dewy grass and violet leaves glisten underfoot; galbanum is green and sharp, like the wind across open fields. Moss is cool and ancient, clinging to stone and memories alike. Peat rises from the earth with its dark, mineral, slightly smoky scent, evoking the glow of a fireplace in the endless night. Traces of mushrooms linger like the damp silence of the forest floor, embedding the perfume in a fertile shadow.
Then something ghostly stirs. The delicate and fleeting scent of bluebells permeates the composition, while narcissus lends a pale, golden glow. It exudes a floral yet melancholic mood. The dry, honeyed warmth of immortelle absolute is permeated by the mist, echoing the eternal tales carried by the wind.
Sgàil is the breath of the dawn: a blend of wool and mist, peat and flowers, earth and spirit. The invisible guardian of the valley, the echo of ancient cries on the rain-soaked hills. This is the soul of Scotland, gently retreating into the shadows.
