D:SOL MMXVI Sombra (Extrait de Parfum) is a wildly erotic, animalic perfume that does not beg for compliments. This perfume grabs you, pins you down and holds you in its power. Its opening could even be considered provocative, but as the sun goes down and the spaces become shadowy, Sombra comes to life and with it the realm of the senses.

In Sombra’s opening, the citrusy scent of yuzu and mandarin collides with peppery sparkles. These notes do not lend brightness, but rather represent a momentary seduction before the perfume sinks into the shadows. The transition is sudden, as if we were stepping from the last rays of sunset into a night full of danger and desire.

In the heart notes of D:SOL Sombra, the elegance of rose absolute and the hot swirl of geranium is burned by saffron and nutmeg. This is where Sombra’s true intention is revealed: not beauty, but seduction through dissonance. The flowers never fully bloom, instead wilting under the heavy breath of spices and the metallic glint of saffron. It is a moment that hovers between attraction and unease.

Then comes the fall. Laotian oud dominates the base, a dark, animalic growl that is both fecal and irresistible. Paired with leather, vetiver, and balsamic resins, it evokes the texture of skin, sweat, and heat. A fragrant image of bodies pressed together in the darkness of the night. This oud is at its most uncompromising, filthy form: confrontational, almost indecent, yet impossible to ignore.

Sombra is not polite, nor is it designed to beg for compliments. It is a liquid performance, a meditation on the animal within us. Sometimes unsettling, sometimes strangely erotic, it feeds on provocation. Recommended for those willing to explore the raw, shadowy edges of sensual pleasure as day gives way to night.
