Parfum Prissana Haxan (Extrait de Parfum) hovers on the border between shadow and ritual – a perfume inspired by ancient magic, alchemy, and witchcraft. Its spirit draws on Benjamin Christensen’s groundbreaking 1922 film Häxan, which explored the mysticism and taboos of occult practices with rare audacity.

Haxan was originally created by master perfumer Prin Lomros for Rajesh Balkrishnan. It is a dark, witchcraft-flirting fougère perfume composed of more than 100 extraordinary ingredients, many of which have traditionally been used in potions, elixirs, and rituals. Three different natural lavenders form its aromatic backbone, surrounded by smoky woods and resins: birch, cedar, pine, guaiac, cypriol, sandalwood, styrax, and pine needles. It rests on a mossy base that evokes forgotten ritual spaces.

In Parfum Prissana Haxan, spices and herbs — saffron, thyme, rosemary, black pepper, nutmeg, cumin, basil, and marjoram — intertwine with the scent of tobacco, mushrooms, and vetiver. The subtle animalic nuances of leather, musk, beeswax, seaweed and castoreum lend the perfume an ancient, unsettling depth. Haxan’s dry-down settles into a bed of resinous moss, patchouli, labdanum, incense, opoponax, jasmine, chamomile and galbanum.

Despite its dense and mysterious composition, Haxan is surprisingly wearable – constantly shifting between dark and light, shadow and light. It is truly transformative, full of life on the skin.
