Description
Wamaq Patchouli (Extrait de Parfum) has been nominated for the Best Perfume Prize at the Art & Olfaction Awards in the Independent Category.
Wamaq Patchouli is not a gentle introduction to the world of patchouli – it is a bold, immersive experience, a statement of presence. From the first spray, the unmistakable weight of oud sets the tone: deep, resinous and dominant. But at the heart of the complexity is patchouli with its earthy, woody and textured notes. It unfolds in layers that speak of soil, shadows and the soul. This patchouli is as it should be: not sweetened, not repressed, but natural, with all its earthy strength.
The opening of Patchouli is powerful and spicy, with flashes of bergamot and nutmeg, tinged with the resinous brilliance of olibanum. As the perfume evolves, petals of Turkish and Azerbaijani rose, osmanthus and jasmine enrich the fragrance without taking centre stage. They weave through patchouli like silk threads through raw wood, enhancing its richness rather than competing with it.
At Wamaq Patchouli dries down, the perfume is at its most luxurious: layers of Javanese vetiver, sandalwood, tobacco and rich oud envelop patchouli with warmth and depth. White oud and brown ambergris add mystery; musk is a soft layer over the woody base.
Patchouli captures the raw, woody essence of its namesake – complex, dominant and undeniably alive. A perfume for those who wear their presence unapologetically.
