Dan Lo Grounded Hills (Eau de Parfum) was nominated for the Best Perfume Prize in the Independent Category at the Art and Olfaction Awards in 2026!

Grounded Hills draws its inspiration from Hakka lei cha, a traditional Taiwanese crushed tea, in which tea leaves, grains, and seeds are ground together to create a nourishing and soothing beverage. The fragrance transports this ritual to the atmosphere of a mist-shrouded Taiwanese hillside: the sound of a stone mortar, the warm scent of grains wafting from a bowl, and the aroma of green tea permeating the misty mountain air. There is something intimate about it, the scent of hospitality and memories.

The top notes of Dan Lo Grounded Hills are immediately roasted and textured. Sesame brings a dry, nutty warmth, while brown rice evokes roasted grains and the soothing aroma of genmaicha. Beneath it, black beans gradually emerge, lending the perfume an earthy, softly salty depth, making the gourmand effect unexpectedly refined. Next, the tea leaves become increasingly dominant: their green bitterness lifts the denser grainy notes and prevents the scent from becoming heavy or sugary. As the perfume dries down, the roasted elements gently melt into the skin, leaving behind a delicate, tea-like, almost musky warmth: calm, dry, and subtly addictive.

Grounded Hills is the ideal fragrance for those who enjoy tea-inspired scents, unconventional gourmand fragrances, and perfumes that rely more on texture than on floral or woody structures. It is completely unisex, intelligent, and distinctive.
