Filippo Sorcinelli LAVS Limited Edition Extrait de Parfum is the signature niche perfume from Sorcinelli’s UNUM collection. LAVS Limited Edition Extrait de Parfum is a must for lovers of incense based scents and even has direct connections to the Pope himself. In fact, this Limited Edition Extrait de Parfum features a cap intricately embroidered with precious onyx and ceremonial bells – the very same worn by the Pope himself. This heady hit of the holy stuff features incense in its purest, most liturgical form. Top notes lean on the lemony and peppery side of incense thanks to the king of spices, black pepper and elemi – an exotic oleoresin from the far east. Warm and resonant tones continue as clove and cardamom add the spiced aroma of the orient – a classic way to inspire wonderment despite the gloomy, stone clad interiors of winter churches. Labdanum, a classic Mediterrean resin collected from the Cistus ladanifer bush adds warmth and a rounded depth to the heart. The base is mellow and resiny with the perfume resting on a solid structure of oponopax. Otherwise known as sweet myrrh, oponopax recreates the pomp and splendour of Catholic high mass. Tonka bean has tones reminiscent of vanilla, caramel and tobacco which imbue LAVS with an ambery sweetness and depth during drydown. An unapologetic incense scent which inspires meditation and spiritual awakening.

Filippo Sorcinelli LAVS Limited Edition Extrait de Parfum is the first perfume Filippo Sorcinelli created for his renowned UNUM line – with an added touch of papal luxury. Acronym for Laboratorio Atelier Vesti Sacre, LAVS the scent is named after the small luxury tailoring boutique of the same name founded by Sorcinelli. LAVS has the singular distinction of being the official supplier of sacramental vestments and accessories to the Vatican. Both Pope Benedict and Pope Francis have sported Sorcinelli’s intricate and labour-intensive designs. The latter even wore an elaborate LAVS piece during his 2013 inaugural mass. To top of the ritualistic decadence, all LAVS robes are sprayed with a heady hit of LAVS Extrait de Parfum before being sent to the Vatican – so now you know the Pope wears a scent of sufficient sacredness and solemnity to match his flamboyant outfits.

This limited edition LAVS Extrait de Parfum comes with meticulously designed embroidery from the very same hands that design the Pope’s iconic religious clothing. The artisan made design is hand crafted at the LAVS atelier and features precious onyx stone and miniature bells meticulously woven onto the perfume’s lid. Not only is Filippo Sorcinelli a world class perfumer and highly respected tailor, he is a classically trained organist and visual artist. His mysterious creative world combines ancient gothic gloom with cutting edge modernity in one darkly immersive aesthetic.
