Grandiflora Queen of the Night Eau de Parfum is a fresh and creamy floral perfume capturing the polished sheen of white flowers – a fragrance dedicated to love without regret. What has made Sydney based flower shop Grandiflora so universally acclaimed is its understanding that in the world of fragrance there is nothing like ephemeral beauty: the smell of cut flowers, emitting decadently aromatic wafts that are not meant to last. In Grandiflora Queen of the Night, master perfumer Bertrand Duchafour explores even more closely how a fleeting blossom can take us to heady heights. He draws inspiration from the flower of the same name, that famously blooms for only one night a year before dying in the dawn – seducing us with a captivating mix of memory and desire.

The airy floral opening vibrates with aldehydes, creating top notes that sparkle with the creamy, polished sheen of pristine white flowers. Orange blossom is milky sweet while notes of jasmine subtly suggest the indolic edge of classic white floral perfumes. But any hint of sharpness or nose-tingling freshness in the opening is expertly mellowed by the softest, most satisfying sweetness of syringa (commonly known as lilac) and vanilla orchid.

Like petals expiring at dawn, Queen of the Night’s white floral bouquet recedes during the drydown revealing a wake of smooth, creamy musks and balmy, gourmand woods. If all good things must come to an end, Grandiflora Queen of the Night does so with majestic poise – slowly retreating into the amber-toned haze from which all the beautiful mysteries of nature emerge.
