Mendittorosa Alfa Eau de Parfum is the beginning of EVERYTHING, with the hot metallic lava flowing into the salty sea, leaving a mineralic aquatic scent on the skin. Alfa is a subtle, oriental perfume which sets bright, sweet fruits atop a heart of exotic spices and a demure woody base. The opening is floral and fruity with delicate saccharine notes balanced by the light, eucalyptus facets of ravensara. The creative mind behind Mendittorosa, Stefania Squeglia, describes Alfa as a naked venus rising from a clear blue sea in an Arcadian landscape of earth, milk and vineyards. The theme of Mediterranean idyll is enhanced with a restrained herbal accord of thyme, clove and nutmeg crowned by a saffron heart – giving the perfume a resonant, spiced quality with powdery leather undertones. A dry incense base of sandalwood, frankincense, precious woods and oud shows the sultry, sensual side of Mendittorosa’s distinctive oriental wood accords.

Mendittorosa Alfa Eau de Parfum is part of the ‘Trilogy’ Collection within the Mendittorosa ‘Odori d’Anima’ Series. Trilogy consists of Alfa, Omega and Id. Because in opposites we find balance, the three perfumes were created to complement each other and complete each other’s journey. Alfa and Omega are two faces of the same coin, while Id is the scent that unites all difference. All three were inspired by Stromboli, an active volcano off the north coast of Sicily. The original inspiration for Mendittorosa and its spiritual home, Stromboli is the source of sensual energy and erotic power which charge these three scents. The ‘Trilogy’ compositions can be worn solo, or layered to achieve a truly personal effect.

Mendittorosa bottles come in handmade wooden boxes, which are miniature editions of those used by Tuscan artist Alessandro Reggioli, to transport his works. The unique boxes are hand-stamped, wrapped in twine and held together with a metal tag. The bottle itself is also artisan designed with thick, heavy glass and rounded corners like sea glass. The cap’s unique, dulled metallic finish heightens the ancient, rustic look.
