Description

Rogue Perfumery Rostracto Eau de Parfum is a dark and oriental rose niche perfume that takes us on a kaleidoscopic journey to the mysterious depths of the world’s most iconic floral. A true Rogue rose, Rostracto is not your dewy, fresh garden variety. Instead, it is a myriad of rosy fragments amid differing resins and textures and cannot be viewed in isolation. Rostracto is rose in context – it floats in a sticky, leathery, smoky, woody, amber-toned universe that feels both petrichor wet and powdery dry at the same time. This landscape is like an abstract cubist painting – a jumble of beautiful and contrasting elements that vibrates on the skin.

Yet, whereas an abstract painting is atemporal, a non hierarchical assemblage of elements that deconstructs traditional narrative in painting, Rostracto is a story that unfolds in an old fashioned way. Something of a classic saga on the skin, the opening of jammy rich rose grows thorny green facets while emerging artemisia contributes a herbaceous masculinity. The sense of roundedness slowly expands – darkening and thickening into a powerful balsamic bouquet. A saturated and intense rose petrichor – steeped in floral mystery – seems to coexist in stark contrast to a dry, dusty and spicy woodiness that emanates from the base with majestic confidence.

Composed of rose impressions caught on olfactory canvas, Rogue Perfumery Rostracto is the kind of rose that proves how universally appealing the queen of florals is, how masculine it can lean, and how even those self avowed rose detractors can be won over by the perfectly executed piece of perfume art.
