Description
Ataraxia Perfumery Deity (Extrait de Parfum) has been nominated for the Best Perfume Prize at the Art and Olfaction Awards in 2026!
Deity is about the passing of a deity, where grief transforms into something of a completely different nature. The departure of a ruler, a saint, or a god is characterized not by physical death, but by a strange and radiant continuity. Power does not vanish with the body; rather, it deepens, spreads into the air, and enters the bodies of those left behind. What once ruled from above now acts from within, intimately and eternally. Here there is no mourning, only reverence, an almost sacred sweetness that follows the last breath. Power remains, not as a memory, but as a presence. Absolute dominion continues invisibly.
Ataraxia Perfumery Deity opens with hypnotic richness, where honey and golden fruits melt into a magnificent, almost reverent experience. Japanese plum and cherry jam shimmer in a syrupy depth, softened by the airy indulgence of Chantilly cream. It feels as if it were edible, a ritual offering transformed into a perfume.
At the heart of Deity perfume, a dense and captivating warmth unfolds. Condensed milk and cocoa butter blend into the tobacco absolute, creating a texture that is both intoxicating and soothing. Beeswax and delicate snowdrops bring a quiet radiance, as if light itself had been absorbed into the resin and the skin.
The base notes pay homage to eternity with grand, resinous gestures. Olibanum and myrrh rise above labdanum and amber, wrapped in vanilla, tonka, and dark cocoa. Patchouli pulses beneath dates and benzoin, enriched by a leathery, golden depth. Deity never fades; it endures, like a force that has simply changed form.
