Blackcliff Mr. Pink Extrait de Parfum is a sweet and smoky amber fragrance with a woody backbone. Mr. Pink is all about tweaking expectations and conventions as it reinterprets the cliches of masculine myth and legend to arrive at powerfully unconventional gourmand for modern man. A rich array of creamy-sweet notes in the perfume opening have a striking intensity: cotton candy, butter and toasted vanilla fold into each other like an extravagant indulgence. As only the most masculine man can successfully pull off a pink shirt, this is the fragrance of a self-assured gentleman who is not afraid to show his soft side.

True to its position as a niche perfume for a new age, Blackcliff Mr. Pink is a complex character. Alongside the sweetness there is cutting edge and underneath the caramel confidence lies a layer of solidity. A clarion call of yuzu and bergamot cut through the richness of this mystical gourmand and the fragrance is burnished with a saffron glaze. A sweet, smoke-infused heart reveals depth and longevity. Mr. Pink’s soul is deeply resinous and contemplative, laden with precious amber, sacred sandalwood and oakmoss for a polished finish.

Blackcliff creative director Tomilson Bynoe has woven his own narrative regarding how Pink came to be masculine, involving the ancients in days of yore. He envisions a time when man and nature coexisted peacefully, smoke existed without fire, milk was not white, and the ‘blood’ of wood was coloured pink. One of the rites of passage involved the retrieval of such blood, which represents manna fallen from the last existing tree – and as a result, the completion of transition from adolescence to full manhood.
