Description
Gallivant Gdańsk Eau de Parfum is a modern maritime amber combining a classic amber accord with salty ambergris – all swirling around a jammy rose heart. An ode to a city that is strong, warm-hearted and independent-minded! Although far removed from the classic amber territory of the middle east, Gdańsk lends itself surprisingly well to haute parfumerie. The Baltic. The freedom of the open sea. Forests. City. Tobacco traders and tanneries. A world of olfactory delight.
The coast around Gdańsk has traditionally been a rich source of amber resin (the gold of the shoreline), making Gallivant’s amber accord hewn from labdanum, benzoin and vanilla perfectly fitting. Its warm, comforting roundness contrasts nicely with another material traditionally found on Baltic shores – mysterious ambergris (the elusive by-product of the sperm whale and one of the most prized materials in perfumery). Here ambergris rounds out the expansive beauty of arrangement while incorporating a hint of aquatic saltiness.
Gdańsk’s varying amber delights are melded together by a sweet, plummy rose in the heart, elevating the fragrance to a level of truly universal olfactive sophistication. Gallivant Gdańsk is a fragrance that opens itself up to the globe, combining old-school oriental decadence with a modern, northern soul. Who wouldn’t want to explore its sensual charms?

Top notes: plum, honey, cardamom, nutmeg and saffron
Heart notes: leather notes, cistus absolute, sustainable sandalwood oil from New Caledonia, patchouli, and incense resinoid – with a light touch of rose
Base notes: amber, tobacco absolute, cypriol, styrax (liquidambar), vanilla, musks and ambergris (a plant-derived substitute, no animal by-products)
