Istituto dell’Odore Iris è nata a Berlino (Extrait de Parfum) places iris within the darkness and movement of Berlin’s nightlife. Industrial lights illuminate a dancing body, on the border between recognizability and anonymity, a perfume becomes an identity. The accompanying story follows a woman remembered as Iris because of the perfume she wears, a gift she received from her mother. This intimate connection provides the perfume’s emotional tension: a personal, tender story carried into nightlife amid shadows, strangers, and deeply pulsating music.

Iris è nata a Berlino opens with iris absolute and forms the foundation of green, floral, and woody contrasts. Galbanum, geranium, and Undecavertol evoke a cool, vibrant freshness around the powdery texture, while violet absolute and jasmine lend a more delicate emotional tone to the heart note. Cypriol sneaks an earthy darkness beneath the flowers. Sandalwood and cedarwood form a textured base, joined by musk, amber, Ambrinol S, and Ambrocenide. Together, these ingredients lend depth and tension to iris, allowing its soft character to hold its own even in a more austere, urban atmosphere.

Istituto dell’Odore was founded as a joint creative perfume house by Meo Fusciuni and Federica Castellani. Its imaginary archive preserves the emotional associations linked to each fragrance note. While the Meo Fusciuni collection unfolds through the perfumer’s own life, the Istituto invites every wearer to discover something of themselves within it.
