Mendittorosa Daymon Eau de Parfum is a joyful and enigmatic niche perfume delicately balancing iris and tonka bean – a celebration of cruelty free fragrances and the innocent world of animals. Daymon is the scent for a way of being outside of the realm of language – a scent born of the eloquence found in silence. A subtle hint of iris in the opening blends with the herbal sweetness of angelica root, which acts upon the senses with therapeutic gentleness. The moist, greenness of the top notes fold refreshingly into the emerging heart of tonka bean with its silky soft texture of nut and vanilla. Daymon is not gourmand, neither is it overtly floral – the peaceful coexistence of iris and tonka means the well-balanced arrangement snuggles close to the skin in comforting harmony. Irresistibly plush, like the fur of a cat, Daymon is an olfactive expression of intimacy. Its restrained interplay of fresh flower and velvety cream tones make you want to nuzzle closely to the source of this comforting olfactive poetry.

Daymon’s base notes swathe the skin in a gauze of interwoven elements – sandalwood, benzoin and ambroxan together have a quietness that does not easily find words. The fragrance never over-asserts itself, but instead subtly informs our interactions with the world around us. Daymon is the material realization of Mendittorosa’s commitment to do its bit for the animals around us; innocent creatures without access to language or the power to defend themselves. Working with the world-wide animal protection NGO, Leaping Bunny, Mendittorosa is now officially certified as a cruelty free brand – something they have always been, of course. Daymon is therefore so much more than a unique niche perfume, born of a collaboration with master parfumeur, Luca Maffei – it is a vision to stop human violence against animals, to lessen their suffering and to set them free from slavery and slaughter. Once and for all to make clear that animals are not of less worth than humans.

Mendittorosa Daymon Eau de Parfum comes in a unique bottle crowned with a Daymon ceramic cap by Tuscan artist Alessandro Reggioli, who previously designed the magnificent caps for Mendittoroso’s Sogno Reale and Le Mat perfumes. Each cap is hand made and depicts unique totemic representations of varying animals. Daymon’s soft wool and silk tail is handmade in Naples and fittingly dyed in rainbow colours. It sprouts from the top of Daymon’s unique, cylindrical box with a playful, peaceful energy.

Base notes: habanolide, New Caledonian sandalwood, resinoid, siam benzoin, ambroxan
