Description

Mendittorosa Outopia (Extrait de Parfum) evokes a place that does not actually exist, yet has somehow always been within us. A place we cherish and nurture in our hearts. It may have been forgotten, hidden, or obscured, but it has never completely disappeared. Mendittorosa draws inspiration from this inner landscape and speaks to us: of a place where the wind carries the scent of myrrh, the earth embraces us, the rain cleanses us, and fire does not burn but transforms.

Outopia lends this imaginary place an extraordinary physical presence. Namibian myrrh, incense, and opoponax form the resinous core of the fragrance, ancient and elemental in character without being nostalgic. Surrounding them, cedarwood crystals and Cashmeran provide structure and texture, while Noxolide, ancient resins, and liquid musks create a more intimate and sensual atmosphere. Maltol and Maderal bring a contrasting warmth, softening the austerity of the resins, while the lively woody notes expand the composition outward in space. The perfume feels less like a depiction of a place and more like the sensation of remembering a place that may never have existed outside of ourselves.

Mendittorosa Outopia is part of a new collection of three fragrances dedicated to Freedom. This does not refer to the kind of freedom we simply interpret as doing whatever we want, removing limitations, or chasing success. Rather, it is freedom from the subtler forms of slavery created by the search, the struggle, and the striving to be who we think we should be. These three perfumes seek another possibility: to change course without necessarily moving, to overturn the order without conflict, to be defiant without shouting, and ultimately to live as we truly are. A hymn to freedom as the scent of life.
