Meo Fusciuni Amara Vita (Extrait de Parfum) is a deeply personal gourmand fragrance that explores the strange coexistence of sweetness and pain. It’s about the end of a love story and the little rituals we use to get through it. Meo Fusciuni recalls sitting alone with a chocolate cake after a relationship ended, eating almost instinctively until the cocoa became a kind of refuge for him. In Amara Vita, this memory is transformed into a fragrance, where cocoa functions as a symbolic philosopher’s stone: something capable of transforming heartache into tenderness.

Amara Vita’s rich opening is instantly captivating. Dark cocoa is enlivened by juicy raspberry, blood orange, and bergamot. It evokes a sensation that lies much closer to dark chocolate, candied citrus, and warm fruits than to confectionery. Roasted coffee adds a dark undertone, lending depth and a slightly addictive edge to the opening.

In Meo Fusciuni Amara Vita perfume’s heart the gourmand character becomes increasingly palpable and sensual. Powdery iris melts into creamy sandalwood, tonka bean, and vanilla, softening the cocoa without taking away its darker personality. The effect is velvety, intimate, and almost soothing, as if warmth were returning after an emotional shock.
