Meo Fusciuni Notturno Extrait de Parfum is a brooding wood and leather based niche perfume inspired by the dark soul of the midnight poet. Notturno starts off like many a good night: boozy. The soothing aroma of rum assuages the nose like liquid amber. A tartly sweet ripe pineapple note, also present in the opening, offers a brief spark of brightness. This glowing yellow juice quickly recedes revealing this gothic scent’s nocturnal heart.

As if descending into the murky depths of night, pitch black ink sets a deliciously gloomy and mysterious tone. Gluey, waxen, oldschool, one can almost imagine a poetic genius quivering over his quill and inkpot. Notturno’s dark core sits very comfortably over an earthy leather tone reminiscent of the material used to bind old anthologies. Leather and paper notes are united by the tar like depth of birch – reproducing the scent of ancient parchment or vellum. Notturno’s subtle base is sensually enveloping with cedar, incense, amber and musk; these calming woods and resins promise rest after a night of passionate soul searching.

Meo Fusciuni Notturno Extrait de Parfum was created by a mad desire for love – love for the night, poetry and intimate research into the architecture of the heart. The first fragrance from the “Cycle of Poetry” collection, this marvelously dark scent is inspired by Rilke, Holderlin, Celan, Neruda and De la Cruz; five poets, a multitude of olfactory effects, countless sleepless moments. Just one colour, black.
