Meo Fusciuni Odor 93 Extrait de Parfum is a complex oriental scent featuring an oscillating floral blend of tuberose and narcissus over a woody base. This is an olfactory juggling act of a niche perfume, balancing a cacophony of notes – sweet and bitter, bright and dark, damp and dry and natural and synthetic – into an engrossing, unified whole. Odor 93’s opening is surprisingly dark and aromatic with notes of clove and birch leaves. Mixed with the scent’s subtle but ever-present ‘dirty oud’ facet the top notes coalesce into a deep black, inky leather accord.

At its heart Odor 93 also shows its gothic side by revealing the darkly sexual and animalic side of florals. A full-bodied tuberose blooms in all its rubbery and indolic glory. Its rich and creamy tones swing in and out of focus next to deep narcissus which itself is a contradiction of bright white floral and earthy green leaf. The complexity and opulence of the florals in Odor 93 showcases how scents can change from inanimate darkness into the delicate sensuality of living blossoms with a slight shift in focus. During drydown, Odor 93 reveals a natural tobacco note which feels humid and richly textured. Teamed with patchouli, the tobacco’s sweet herbal notes comfortably nestle into guaiacwood and oud in the base, producing a long lasting scent which is honeyed, hay-like and subtly intoxicating.

Meo Fusciuni Odor 93 Extrait de Parfum is a dreamlike perfumed journey which forms the second installment in the house’s “Mystic Cycle” (the other scents being Narcotico and L’oblio). This scent was conceived by Meo Fusciuni’s nose and creative director, Giuseppe Imprezzabile to show how seemingly differing components are linked together by thin imaginary threads. Similar to concepts of spiritual telepathy, collective consciousness and universal life force, Odor 93 is a form of perfumed prana. It is a scent composed of opposing elements which permeate a multitude of realities, united by an invisible bond into one spectacularly singular olfactory experience.
