Olympic Orchids Carosello Extrait de Parfum is a highly original green, floral and wine fougere balancing boozy refreshment with nostalgia’s mossy blur. A fresh fruitiness in the perfume’s opening suggests wine gums – evoking memories of the juicy chewiness of sweetly sour candy. Carosello is playful and mouthwateringly evocative with the spongy waterlogged spring of damp moss with faint wafts of cotton candy in the air. As Carosello settles on the skin, nutmeg and florals sparkle together with a champagne effervescence that makes the scent pop. A joyous journey that this merry-go-round of a fragrance takes us on.

When Olympic Orchids founder Ellen Covey was a child living in Italy, she didn’t have a TV, so the neighbours would always invite her to come watch evening TV shows at their place. The entertaining advertising segment that came on regularly was called Carosello. While everyone was intent on watching TV, the family would drink lots of cheap white Moscato wine. This tradition created an indelible association between white wine, carousels, and old Italian TV shows. The carousel can also symbolize the cycle of life, with each year slipping by more quickly than the previous one. It seems society in general has also reached that point, where there are so many distractions and frustrations that we all need to sit down with a nice glass of Moscato, forget about life, and let the spiral of events take us where it will.
