Rubini Profumi Fundamental Eau de Parfum is an aromatic woody scent uniting delicate powdery floral facets with a sparkling grape note. A modern take on the classic 20th century cologne, this niche fragrance pays homage to classic Italian perfumery… with its own unique twist. Opening with the citrus tartness of bergamot and tangerine, Fundamental soon reveals an avant-garde reinterpretation of grape. The futuristic fruit note is surprisingly dry and rich in aromas, pushing Fundamental into a new dimension in perfumed resonance. The heart note hums with wild florals and natural honey while wafts of clary sage and lavender float atop a velvety base of orris butter, beeswax and labdanum. The effect is rich and resiny yet fresh. During drydown, the subtle animalic features of leather meld with the mystical notes of sandalwood and soothing, yet energizing cocoa.

The scent perfume was created by Cristiano Canali (Masque Milano, Zoologist Perfumes) and Ermano Picco’s vivid olfactive storytelling was the inspiration behind this beautiful perfume. Bringing a piece of fragrance history to life, Fundamental Eau de Parfum takes us back to 1930s Verona. In his tiny atelier, perfumer Pietro Rubini would make his lavish colognes and fragrances which he ensured to pass on to the opera performers at the city’s ancient Roman Arena. His powdery cosmetics, too, would find their way onto the stage in the form of waxy greasepaint used as performance makeup. As the evening came to an end, the seductive scents of his perfumes and cosmetics would infuse the local brothels – telling lush stories of decadence and passion.

Rubini Profumi Fundamental Eau Parfum is surrounded on two sides by packaging made from uniquely cutting-edge Glebanite® technology – bringing this time traveling scent right back to the future. Made of recycled fiberglass from old houses and boats, the unique case is futuristic, textured and refined – a work of art in itself.
