Rivendare 1747 (Eau de Parfum) has been nominated for the Best Perfume Prize at the Art and Olfaction Awards in Los Angeles in the Artisan Category.

Rivendare 1747 revives a forgotten pleasure: the aristocrats’ hot chocolate flavored with ambergris. Inspired by rumors about King Charles II’s tastes and Hannah Glasse’s 1747 cookbook, it transforms a luxurious, once-edible ritual into a wearable, semi-real olfactory dream.

1747 opens with roasted cocoa beans and dark carob, rich but never cloying. Elderflower CO2 infuses the perfume with a bright, sparkling effervescence, invigorating the cocoa and evoking the foam of hot chocolate. As the fragrance warms, saffron glows like embers burning in charcoal, coloring the composition with golden warmth, while orris resin adds a cool, powdery balance. The dry, tea-like patchouli evokes carved wood and a leather-covered table by the fireplace.

The base notes of Rivendare 1747 are full of surprises. Real ambergris is mineral, animalic, and beautifully pure, with the brightness of sea salt. The smoldering, rare, incense-like dark gravity of kinam resin lends silence and solemnity. Oakmoss ties the structure together with a forest shadow, softening the sweetness and lending dignity.

1747 is not a sweetness, but a memory. It is close, then radiant, like warm porcelain, intimate yet long lasting, refined yet decadent. The ambergris-kinam accord lingers for hours, leaving behind an aura of salty chocolate that is both modern and centuries old.
