Rogue Perfumery A’Oud Ancienne Eau de Parfum is an ode to Assam oud from the ancient trees of India’s Assam region. A’Oud Ancienne is specifically distilled from aquilaria agallocha trees – renowned for their all-around oud profile. Seasoned oud lovers and newcomers alike will be bowled over by A’Oud Ancienne’s rendering of real Indian oud in all its honesty.

Initial notes (in full ‘barnyard’ and ‘blue cheese’ glory) may not be for the faint of heart, but as with any high quality oud, allow the animalic intensity to mellow and experience the timeless allure of the world’s richest, roundest and warmest classic perfume ingredient. A’Oud Ancienne is a particularly woody oud. Alongside the supple and malleable oud notes stands cypress – solid as a trellis – offering olfactive support to the myriad forms and facets of fine oud oil. It also offers structural contrast to oud’s shapeshifting, animalic aliveness.

A’Oud Ancienne showcases oud’s status as a resinous material during drydown. Emerging from the profound depths in haunting, hushed tones, the musty bark notes of amyris feel truly ancient.
