Maya Njie Tropica (Eau de Parfum) is a tropical fruity perfume with a sun-drenched memory of the perfumer’s childhood trips to The Gambia. It evokes the warmth of summer vacation and the small, personal details: ripe oranges, coconuts picked straight from the trees, the feel of sunscreen on the skin, the salty air, fizzy soft drinks, the song of crickets, and the distant sound of drums after dark. Instead of creating a picture-perfect tropical fantasy, Maya Njie captures the feeling of flying away from cold, gray days to a radiant, carefree, and vibrant place. The fragrance expresses a sense of freedom and nostalgia just as much as it does fruity notes. It feels more personal than like an escape, as if it were evoking summer through touch, taste, sound, and scent.

Tropica opens with a burst of fresh citrus and playful pineapple, sharpened by airy white flowers, making the fruit seem sparkling rather than syrupy.
